For an expat wife...dragged overseas by her husband's career, de-railed from her own life and dreams, it's not the best choice!
Rapunzel - Utrecht must have been nice, I liked those smaller towns. And near enough to Amsterdam for some fun.
Becky - a workplace book club must be quite interesting - is there a hierarchy? Does everyone have to defer to the headmaster??Keren Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13121027210783177857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2616410914770011438.post-37520810547264402772010-01-23T02:42:32.598-08:002010-01-23T02:42:32.598-08:00That's really funny. It's basically a fairytale, isn't it? Not relevant to real life but a nice dream. Book club is fun. Everyone has different views. The Headmaster's wife comes to the one I run and she liked Star of the Sea and I'm sure you remember how I thought that was the most boring book on Earth. So it turns out that some people like books that take a whole heap of effort to understand and don't mind going back and re-reading passages. Hello! It is just me that's the lazy reader. How enlightening! I call myself a librarian. Ha! I'm seriously considering changing The Bookette to the Lazy Reader.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14379159908572573355noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2616410914770011438.post-30607900769288210862010-01-22T06:46:57.414-08:002010-01-22T06:46:57.414-08:00Oi, Rapunzel, get your own blogs to follow!

Instead I went to salsa lessons. I look back now and wonder what the hell was I thinking cause not only could I not salsa, I also couldn't speak Dutch. Needless to say that as the lessons were given in Dutch, I still can't salsa...

Looking forward to hearing about the second book club. I'm hoping that there you got to read the book (and I kid you not...) called Dealing with the Dutch!

www.talesfromthetower.co.ukRapunzelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06718347972677250304noreply@blogger.com
